Project Overview
Akwa Ibom Society Network BC's executive council met to turn our vision into action. Together we set our priorities for the months ahead and began planning the programs and events that will bring our community together, here in BC and back home.

Why This Matters
A strong community needs more than good intentions. It needs people willing to organize, plan and follow through. By taking the time to plan carefully, we can make sure our events are welcoming, our support reaches the people who need it most, and every member knows there's a place for them.

Our Planning Meeting
In August 2026, the executive council gathered to plan our first major community event: the Christmas Potluck & Clothing Drive on December 5, 2026. We talked through how to welcome families, how to collect warm clothing for newcomers to Canada, and how to make sure anyone facing a hard season knows they can reach out to us. We left with a plan, a to-do list, and a lot of excitement for what's ahead.

What We're Building
Every meeting brings us one step closer to the community we set out to create, one where people feel supported, connected and empowered to thrive. Through meaningful programs, shared opportunities and collective action, we're celebrating our culture and building a lasting foundation for generations to come.
